Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Hotel Manager to join our dynamic team at TownePlace Suites by Marriott and at our brand-new Courtyard by Marriott. In this role, you will support the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring that our guests receive outstanding service. This position is vital to maintaining our high standards of hospitality and operational efficiency.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Hotel Manager in daily operations and staff supervision.
  • Lead your team. Use your behavior and self-presentation to set an example for your staff of your expectations for their performance.
  • Conduct yourself in an attentive and friendly manner during all guest, visitor, co-worker, employee, and vendor interactions.
  • Practice open communication with General Manager and ownership.
  • Maintain the quality of service at the hotel by supervising the training of employees and by scheduling/performing coaching and co-working to improve performance.
  • Schedule shifts, lead regular meetings, and perform disciplinary/praise actions for staff. Review performance with staff regularly.
  • Create a working knowledge of all hotel positions so that you can step in and lead by example when necessary.
  • Create and place orders. Maintain control of inventory.
  • Solve problems with critical thinking, and with a calm and even temper.
  • Follow up on all issues with guests and staff promptly to ensure they are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Be proactive and forward thinking to prepare for potential issues and to provide a superior guest experience.
  • Ensure your property is always in compliance with brand standards and ownership standards.
  • Maintain cash counts and paperwork accurately.
  • Assist in managing budgets and financial reports for the hotel.
  • Maintain proper security protocols and procedures.

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience in hospitality management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Experience with computers, and some competence in programs like Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to use proper grammar and spelling.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software (FOSSE) is a plus.
  • CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
